Information we collect
This site has no accounts or uploads, and it does not set cookies. Like most websites, our web server keeps standard access logs, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. These logs are used only to keep the site secure and running, and are deleted on a regular schedule.
Guide ratings
At the end of each guide you can rate it from 1 to 5 stars. To allow one rating per person per guide and to stop abuse, our server stores your rating with a salted one-way hash of your IP address and browser. We never store the IP address itself, and the hash cannot be turned back into it. No cookies are used. So that the page can show the rating you gave, your own rating is remembered only in your browser's local storage, which you can clear at any time in your browser settings. Ratings are shown on each guide only as an average and a count.
Share links
The share buttons on each guide are plain links. Nothing is sent to any social network unless you click one of them, and we do not load any social media scripts or tracking pixels.
Photos
We never ask you to upload a photo to this site. If you follow a link to an external photo tool, that site's own privacy policy applies.
External links
Our guides link to Chinese and foreign government, embassy and exam authority websites and to a third-party photo tool. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites.
Content delivery
We may use a content delivery and security service (such as Cloudflare) to deliver this site. That provider may process technical data, such as IP addresses, to protect the site from abuse.
